http://www.burgesshill.gov.uk/sussexlivingmarathon events started last year. Wonder if the council might be receptive to build on this scope with an evening town centre criterium the same day as these running races? Just a thought..........

I think the NEG may have done us a favor today we may well have got slightly damp.

The next challenge is find a new circuit with may be only three turns to marshal local to the majority of the team. It appears this issue with NEG may only get worse so time to move away from Barcombe Very Happy

Good call especially with heavy rain and poor conditions forecasted. The NEG (and what's the abbreviation of?) are invaluable especially on that circuit.

Have you notified Chris Hough?

With recent events at the Seven Bridge RR I would suggest that without a FULL complimet of NEG it would be to great a risk to put the race on. It's not worth saying 'oh it's ok, nothing will happen, we'll be fine' when nothing on the roads these days is guaranteed safe. Just look at what happened with Jonesy the other day and Mark T, Scotty et al only a few months back.

Call me soft, call me anything you want, i really couldn't care. But I don't want this club and the people in it associated with the things that can go wrong when saftey in a road race is not taken with 100% seriousness.

Postponing it gets my vote.

Ok will look out for your post later. If it does go ahead, do you need the girls at the breifing or go straight to Barcombe and what times etc?

Guys I received an email from Glyn yesterday informing there may well be no NEG at our event or at best one. There are also a few large pot holes on the course and a large metal hump for a farmers drains. With all this in mind I have suggested postponing this event until later in the year as I believe without the support of NEG it has the potential to go horribly wrong. At the moment it’s still on hopefully I will have an answer later today one way or the other Very Happy

The Bayeux Biathlon is such a catchy name don't you think, but the snow is melting so quickly now there'll be none left for Sat Sad

I've also posted a request on the Mitre forum to see if we can grab a couple of their guys to get us over the line... responses will come to the Bayeux Hotmail address.
