a bit like Bradley Wiggins - your only 2nd cat is struggling with motivation after a great year last year!!!
I'm in Crawley at 5.30 - what time do you meet?

Chaps - I've got to pull out from tomorrow - it's "Meet the Teacher" at W's school so I'm babysitting while the missus attends. Gutting.
I'm also stuck at home the following Tuesday while she's lording it in Paris - ain't life grand!

Jonesy i think a 10.30 is quite doable as the average speed is still quite low a tight group should achieve at least 23 /24 mph average. I think we need our only 2nd cat to come along and show us how it's done

If anybody has a metal detector, there's a £20 reward for the return of my Cateye computer... last seen bouncing along the tarmac and into the deep grass beside Plumpton Road...

Re: The Bayeux CT Tuesday evening chaingang
4 out tonight. Team manager, Greeny, Jonesy and guest Erica Martin (not Tony's sister).
Lap 1: forgot to press start but it was a warm-up lap
Lap 2: 11:52 21.3mi/h
Lap 3: 11:53 21.6mi/h
Lap 4: 11:50 21.6mi/h (when Greeny's puter flew off from going so fast)
Impressive consistency but sometimes a little ragged. More smoothing out of change-overs and keeping things tighter will come with more practise.
What if we set a lap goal for say Aug/Sep of 10:30 ? Last year the quickest lap was 11:28.

Now and then you have to put up where you're trying so hard but doing really crap going nowhere. That was my night of gasping and grunting whilst Greeny hardly bothered to take breath.
Stats for this week;
Lap 1: 12:17
Lap 2: 12:08
Lap 3: 12:03

Won't be the same without our coach, Jonesy!
Maybe I will do that SL handicap... what could possibly go wrong...

Surrey league have organised a chaingang at Newchapel on Thursday night. Pan flat course, grouped according to ability and the best chance I'll have this season to get 10 points for crossing the end of the last lap first.

'fraid I've still got one more week of tri-training babysitting before I can do the chaingang, but will definitely be there on the 14th...

Re: The Bayeux CT Tuesday evening chaingang
Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it after getting back from London. Hopefully instead I'll continue to be able to make the Wheelers chaingang in HH as that starts at 7:30 just down the road from me.
Every now and then you could come and join in and represent the BCT? Complete range of abilities from those that get dropped lap 1 to those lighting up the afterburners over the top of every lap.
Meet outside Laura Ashley, 5 laps of the town: up to the Hospital on 272, Left in Lindfield, through to Syndey road and to the Station then up to the high street via a different road on each lap. Last lap misses out Sydney road & station heading straight up to Laura Ashley.
In 3 weeks, this has helped me recover from 5 weeks off the bike back into some degree of recovering form.

Absolutely I'm in........but not until the first week in May as currently booked up most evenings for massages until then. I'll then be making sure every Tuesday eve is left free for our excellent session as it was last year.

Re: The Bayeux CT Tuesday evening chaingang
OK folks, the spring is finally here and the nights are drawing out. How's about we resurrect the Tuesday Evening Chaingang???
Not tonight, of course(!), but I'd be up for next Tuesday if anybody else is?
6.45pm start at the school as last year? 6.30 even?
For those that haven't been along to these rides, they're a good hour of chaingang style training, as hard or as easy as the participants want. And we sometimes finish with a cheeky ride up that super-steep Streat Bostall to enjoy the sunset view.
I can honestly say they made the difference between me earning my 3rd Cat and staying stuck in the 4ths last year...

Re: The Bayeux CT Tuesday evening chaingang
Not out tonight, back up here again ready for Thursday's service.
Besides, what with the nights drawing in, this has now served its purpose for this year around dear old Beresford Lane. It's been great and thoroughly enjoyed it - even going off the back first time out. A good example though proving that it does work to improve fitness.
Wouldn't be a bad thing though if we found a safe street lit route locally elsewhere for early next year.

Blimey, you people seem to be getting organised. Would love to join you all on a Tuesday night but this is just a little too far out of my way. Usual commute home on my own with some intervals thrown in it is then...

It's a shame, because it's a lovely evening, but I have to skip tonight too. Got a couple of big meetings in London tomorrow and, to put it mildly, I'm not ready for 'em!!
